Motorola to launch the G7 Series by 2019, but no chances of G7 Play

Despite every radical change brought over the year in Motorola’s company one thing to stay the same is its G Series line-up. The most sold and best for value series.

While the Moto G has lost its track to stay the value-oriented phone, they haven’t forgotten their capabilities to launch the phones with the utmost features & the unique features & quirks they provide. Providing phones from the low-end/mid-range budget and the features associated with it they tend to provide their customers with the same Moto experience & stock android experience.

The latest inclusion of the Moto G line, the Moto G6 line-up, launched earlier this year and brought 18:9 displays, glass bodies, and other “premium” features to the lower end spectrum of smartphones. Except for the Moto G6 Plus variant.

They’re expected to be followed by the seventh-generation Moto G7 phones, which are expected to launch in early 2019, and leaks/ rumors have already begun to spin around.

The alleged logos for both the Moto G7 and the Moto G7 Plus have now surfaced online thanks to Indian technology site MySmartPrice. This doesn’t really tell us a lot aside from confirming that both phones will be coming next year.

What the future holds?

But, if legit, this would confirm that a successor for the Moto G6 Play, a Moto G7 Play, will not be happening next year, as there is no logo for the upcoming phone.

Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Motorola is killing off the “Play” phone series, as they did not release a Moto G5 Play to succeed the Moto G4 Play either, yet they released the G6 Play.

Play Series vanishes again from the 7th generation of G-Series

But this does mean that the G7 series won’t be offering a lower end variant and stick to the very base model and few spec bumps for the “Plus” series.

Pictures of a supposed Moto G7 pre-release unit popped up online a few weeks ago, showcasing a “waterdrop” style notch like the one in the Oppo R17 Pro and the Vivo V11, as well as stock Android Pie out of the box.

So it’s pretty safe to say that we’re nearing the launch of the Moto G7 line-up. Of course, leaks are leaks, and things may change or turn out completely differently by release time, so expect this to offer a change in the upcoming future.
