Traditionally, the Mobile World Conference of Barcelona takes place in the last week of February or first week of March. The MWC 2020 was unfortunately cancelled as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and now it will take place between 28th June and 1st July, 2021.
It is definitely a bad news for the journalists, mobile company employees, partners and other guests as they won’t get to visit the Spanish city during its off-season period but MWC has kept the announcement schedule on point and says that the MWC Shanghai 2021 will take place in the last week of February and the official dates would be 23-25 February.
The conference of Shanghai is particularly aiming at Asia Pacific markets and brands that normally don’t make it to Barcelona. The CEO of GSM association, John Hoffman stated that the clients and partner have remained dedicated to ensure that MWC Barcelona 2021 is a success. The conference would be an experience to bring the whole industry together.
Since the MWC Los Angeles 2021 is scheduled to take place at the end of October, switching the dates of Shanghai and Barcelona will be a perfect way of keeping the annual cycle of events going on.
