Nokia 9 PureView

Nokia 9 PureView, the penta-camera device that was revealed at MWC this year, is gearing up to launch in India. HMD Global teased the launch of the Nokia 9 PureView in India through a video posted on Nokia official Facebook page. Nokia 9 PureView comes with three monochrome and two RGB sensors and features a QHD display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The official Nokia Facebook page in India features a video showcasing different shots from Nokia 9. The video is followed by a text that asks viewers to “stay tuned”, hinting at an imminent release of the smartphone. “Get ready to capture the most breathtaking pictures with the all-new Nokia 9. Stay tuned!” the Facebook post reads.

The Nokia 9 PureView price in the global market is priced at $699(₹48,300 roughly). The phone comes in sole Midnight Blue color option and is already available for purchase in select markets.

Nevertheless, the price of the smartphone in the Indian market is yet to be revealed. We can expect the price to be in line with the global pricing though, between ₹45,000 – ₹50,000.

HMD Global has worked with Light to develop the imaging capabilities of the Nokia 9 PureView. HMD Global also partnered up with Qualcomm and Google to optimize the camera setup in order to fully utilize the Snapdragon 845 processor’s power and work well with Google Photos. The phone houses 5 rear cameras with Zeiss certified lenses, compromising of three 12-megapixel monochrome sensors and two 12-megapixel RGB sensors. Nokia 9 uses all of these sensors when clicking a photo and fuses the photos taken by all the five lenses into a single image. At the front, the phone has a 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.

The phone comes with a 5.99-inch QHD+ POLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of unexpandable onboard storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. The Nokia PureView is also IP67 certified for water and dust resistance and packs a USB Type-C port. There is no 3.5mm audio jack though. The phone is backed up by 3,320mAh battery with wireless charging support.
