Nokia X71

HMD Global has been reported to be working on a new Nokia smartphone, namely Nokia X71 a.k.a Nokia 6.2 a.k.a Nokia 8.2. The company is expected to launch the Nokia 9 PureView in Taiwan on April 2 and rumors have it that there will also be a Nokia X71 at the launch event. Now, there have been leaks about the Nokia X71 detailing the specifications of the device.

A new leaked trademark sketch of the Nokia X71 reveals the looks of the Nokia X71. Interestingly, as the leaks suggested, HMD Global is ditching the notch in favor of a punch-hole display.

Nokia X71 was expected to be launched globally as Nokia 8.1, however, according to a new report which cites FIH OTA has claimed that the device will be called Nokia 6.2. Since this contradicts the claims that other leaks made, we will have to wait for the device to launch in order to confirm the name of the device. The Nokia X71 is slated to launch in Taiwan on April 2.

As the leaks accompanying the sketch suggest, Nokia X71 will feature a 6.4-inch LCD display with full-HD+ resolution. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. The device was recently spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench confirming the same specifications. The smartphone managed to score an average score of 1458 in single-core tests and 5454 in multi-core tests.

The Geekbench listing also reveals that the device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie, which is not surprising since most Nokia branded phones come as a part of Google’s Android One programme.

According to the previous leaks, Nokia X71 will feature a triple camera module compromising of a 48-megapixel primary sensor along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera and a third 5-megapixel sensor. It was also tipped to be backed up by a 3,500mAH battery.

Notably, HMD Global has launched its devices in China under the X-series, which later made its way to the global market under a different name. For instance, Nokia X6 was launched outside China as Nokia 6.1 Plus.
