Oppo A53s 5G has been unveiled in India by Oppo on Tuesday. The smartphone is the successor to last year’s Oppo A53 5G. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC and features a triple-camera setup at the rear. Oppo A53s 5G is currently the most affordable 5G-enabled smartphone in India, beating Realme 8 5G.

Oppo A53s 5G Specifications

Oppo A53s is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core 5G SoC, based on a 7nm fabrication process, paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The processor is backed by up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 1TB. The smartphone runs on Android 11 out-of-the-box with Oppo’s custom ColorOS 11.1 on top.

Coming to the display, the device sports a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The display has an 88.7-percent screen-to-body ratio and a peak brightness of 480 nits. It has thin bezels on the sides and a slightly thicker bezel at the chin. The display also carries a waterdrop-style notch for the front camera.

As for the cameras, the phone features a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and two 2MP sensors with f/2.4 apertures for depth sensing and macro shots. Upfront, an 8MP selfie snapper is placed under the notch.

The mobile phone packs a large 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging. The company claims that the device can deliver 17.74 hours of continuous playback on a single full charge. It ships with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5, and a USB Type-C port. The phone weighs 189.6 grams.

Oppo A53s 5G Price

Oppo A53s will be offered in two color options- Crystal Blue and Ink Black. It starts from Rs. 14,990 for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model and costs Rs. 16,990 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The smartphone will be up for grabs from May 2 via Flipkart.

Considering the price range, it will rival the recently launched Realme 8 5G, which is powered by the same Dimensity 700 5G SoC and features a 90Hz IPS panel, a 48MP triple-camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, starts from Rs. 14,999 in India.
