A Twitter user has revealed that Oppo is planning to release the Oppo A74 5G in India. The smartphone has already been released in South Asian markets like Cambodia and Thailand. He also suggested that there will be certain differences in the Indian variant.

A tipster, Abhishek Yadav, took to his Twitter account and shared the specifications of the smartphone. His leaks have turned out to be true in the past.

Oppo A74 5G Expected Specifications

As per the leaks, the upcoming Oppo A74 5G could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G octa-core chipset, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The earlier variant also features the same chipset. The smartphone may run on Android 11 out-of-the-box with Oppo’s custom ColorOS 11.1 on top.

Coming to the displays, the Indian variant might feature a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. On the contrary, the variant launched in Thailand features an AMOLED panel.

As for the cameras, the device is expected to feature a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP primary sensor and two 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro shots. However, the variant launched in Thailand features a quad-camera setup at the rear with an additional 8MP sensor for a wide-angle lens. Upfront, the Thai model features a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls, whereas, the Indian variant could feature an 8MP selfie snapper.

The mobile phone is expected to carry a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging, the same as the model launched in Cambodia and Thailand. It could feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and weighs 188 grams. Oppo A74, in the South Asian market, launched with connectivity options like dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and a USB Type-C port, and is expected to feature the same options in India as well.

The model will be available in two color options- Fluid Black and Space Silver. In a separate tweet, the tipster claimed that Oppo A74 could be priced below Rs. 20,000 and will be available at the offline stores in India. The smartphone is available in Thailand for THB 8,999 (Rs. 21,000). Considering the downgrade in the spec sheet, a price drop is expected. However, Oppo officials have not confirmed the news, till then it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
