Oppo A74 5G has been launched in India. This is Oppo’s first 5G smartphone in the mid-range segment(under Rs. 20,000 mark). The device draws power from Snapdragon 480 5G SoC and carries a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging. The smartphone was first revealed in Cambodia and Thailand and the Indian model is as per the earlier leaks.
Oppo A74 5G Specifications
Oppo A74 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G octa-core chipset, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 11 out-of-the-box with Oppo’s custom ColorOS 11.1 on top.
The display on the device is a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ LCD unit with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 405ppi of pixel density. The model launched in Thailand featured an AMOLED display instead of an LCD panel. The display also carries a punch-hole at the top left corner for the front camera.
Coming to the cameras, the device sports a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro shots. At the front, an 8MP sensor is placed under the punch-hole for selfies and video calls.
The mobile phone carries a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The device ships with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It weighs 188 grams.
Oppo A74 5G Price
Oppo A74 will be offered in two color options- Fluid Black and Fantastic Purple. It is priced at Rs. 17,990 for the lone 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The smartphone will be up for grabs from April 26 and can be purchased from Amazon and retail shops.

Considering the price range, it will rival Realme Narzo 30 Pro, which is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC with 6GB RAM, features a 48MP triple-camera setup, an IPS LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging, priced at Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The mid-range segment in the Indian smartphone market is already crowded with options, it will be interesting to see how Oppo A74 5G performs in the highly competitive market.
