Oppo will be launching four new smartphones- Oppo R17, Oppo R17 Pro, Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro. While the F9 and F9 pro will be making its debut in India on August 21. Oppo R17 is most likely debut in China in this week. The Sale starts on August 18. As of Now, It is up for pre-orders already but it is listed with a dummy price of CNY 99999 (₹10,15,782). Oppo will reveal the prices on August 18, when the smartphone goes on sale.

The details have been revealed at Oppo’ s China Website and it is confirmed that R17 will be the first smartphone to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC chipset. The Snapdragon 670 SoC was recently announced by Qualcomm. This new chipset is also designed to perform AI tasks on smartphones. With Qualcomm’s third-gen AI Engine, the Snapdragon 670 boasts of efficient sensor management abilities. It is also ideal for computing algorithms that make AI-powered apps. The Snapdragon 670 pairs up with a magnificent 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It supports high-end gaming with an Adreno 615 graphics card. A 3,500mAh battery backs the R17 and will support its company’s own VOOC technology. Coming to software, it runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android Oreo.

R17 sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ display with a 91.5% aspect ratio with a notch on top. The smartphone’s display is protected with the recently announced Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The Notch is different and is a tiny waterdrop notch design, with only a camera on it. The speaker is above the notch and can be visible after a detailed look. On the behind the camera is setup up like the One Plus 6 and has a flash below it, but misses out on a rear placed fingerprint scanner. However, the fingerprint sensor positions itself on the screen itself.

For Photography, Oppo R17 comes with a dual camera setup. A 16 MP primary and a 5 MP secondary sensor are on the rear with an LED flash module. Even more, on the front has a 25 MP Sony IMX576 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture lens. Above all, the cameras on the device will make use of AI for image enhancement and scene detection.
