Oppo is expected to launch a new mid-range smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner in India. Flipkart is already hosting a page providing information about the upcoming device from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer.
The Flipkart page suggests that the phone will be easier on the pocket and will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The page reveals the bottom of the device. The teaser image suggests that the phone could be Oppo K1 that was launched in China in October 2018.
Oppo says that “A new series from Oppo is coming soon to #UnlockWithStyle” for you,” The teaser only affirms the speculations about the launch of a first K-series device from Oppo in India.
The Oppo K1, which was launched in China last year, comes with a waterdrop notch on the front and a dual-camera setup at the back. The smartphone sports a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 X 2340 resolution at 402 PPI density. Oppo K1 has a screen to body ratio of 19.5:9 and comes in with an in-display fingerprint scanner. So far, in-display fingerprint scanners have only been available in high-end devices and with the K1, Oppo might be looking in to bring the feature to a mid-range smartphone.
Oppo K1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with the company’s custom skin, ColorOS on top.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, the phone comes in two variants in term of RAM and internal storage. Oppo K1 is available in a 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal variants. The device is fueled by 3600mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the smartphone has a dual camera setup at the back with a 16MP primary camera(f/1.7) coupled with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, Oppo K1 houses a 25-megapixel selfie shooter(f/2.0). Oppo K1 is capable of 4K video recording.
In China, the 4GB variant of the phone is available at 1599 yuan (₹17,132 roughly) while the 6GB variant is priced at 1799 yuan(₹19,275 roughly).
