Google has been working on a lighter version of its flagship device Pixel 3 XL and according to new reports, the lighter version of Pixel will have 6GB of RAM. The last devices launched by Google were Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL and although Google managed to up the ante with the Pixel 3 lineup, the devices received a lot of criticism for its bigger than usual notch and lesser RAM capabilities.
A report was published in Russian origin news website called Rozetked which said Google might be working on a lighter version of the Pixel 3XL and the device will have 6GB of RAM and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. This presumably affordable version of Pixel 3 XL will be called Pixel 3 Lite XL. The device was also listed on Geekbench under the name Foxxcom Pixel 3 XL. Although the name does not reveal the device to be a Lite version, the specs listed on the website suggest it is.
The Google Pixel 3 Lite XL, according to the listing, will be powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. The Snapdragon chipset is clocked at 1.7GHz and runs on eight Cortex cores. The device is also slated to run Android 9,0 Oie out of the box, which is not a surprise given it is a smartphone from Google. The Pixel 3 XL Lite scored 1805 on the single-core test, and 5790 on the multi-core test. These numbers suggest that the device will be low on performance to compensate the affordability.
The Pixel 3 Lite XL shares a similar design as the current Pixel line-up. The device gets a volume rocker on the right along with a bright green colored power button. On the left side of the device, there is a SIM slot and at the top side of the frame, the device has a microphone and surprisingly a headphone jack. The bottom side has a speaker grille, USB type-C port, and a second microphone. The fingerprint scanner is mounted at the back of the device.
Not unlike Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 Lite gets a single camera sensor at the back. The camera specifications are yet to be revealed, however, some reports suggest that the Pixel 3 lite will have 12-megapixel sensor and a an 8-megapixel front shooter, similar to Pixel 3.
