POCO F3 and X3 Pro

Poco has finally launched the Poco F3 and Poco X3 Pro globally on Monday. Confirming the earlier leaks, the Poco X3 Pro is based on Snapdragon 860 SoC, and Poco F3 is, indeed, a rebadged version of Xiaomi Redmi K40 launched in China a few weeks back. A quad-rear camera is offered in Poco X3 Pro, whereas, Poco F3 features a triple-camera setup at the rear.

Poco F3 Specifications

Poco F3 is a rebranded version of Redmi K40, which was launched in China a few weeks back. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset, based on a 7nm processor with a clock speed of 3.2GHz. The processor is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The device runs on Android 11 out-of-the-box with Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 12 for Poco on top.

The device sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ E4 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports HDR10+, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. The front display is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The front display also carries a tiny punch-hole for the front camera.

Poco F3 ships with a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter with a 119-degree field of view and a f/2.2.aperture, and a 5MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture and autofocus. The device features three microphones for better noise cancellation while recording. At the front, a 20MP selfie shooter is offered under the punch-hole.

The mobile phone carries a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. The company claims that Poco F3 can last for 2 days with a single full charge. The device also features a USB Type-C port, dual stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, and Infrared.

The smartphone is offered in three color options- Night Black, Arctic White, and Deep Ocean Blue. The Poco F3 is priced at EUR 349 (Rs. 30,100) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option and EUR 399 (Rs. 34,400) 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The phone will go live on websites from March 27.

Considering the price range of the smartphone, it will compete with Realme X50 Pro 5G and Oppo RENO 5 Pro 5G. Both the smartphones offer a quad-camera setup at the rear, along with a 90Hz AMOLED display panel. The Realme X50 Pro is based on Snapdragon 865 SoC while the Oppo RENO 5 Pro is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset.

Poco X3 Pro Specifications

The earlier leaks proved to be true for the Poco X3 Pro. The device is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 octa-core chipset with Adreno 640 GPU. It is a 4G chipset and is an upgraded version of Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The chipset is based on a 7nm processor and paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The storage on the device can be expanded through a microSD card up to 1TB. The device is based on Android 11 with MIUI 12 for Poco on top.

POCO X3 Pro

The smartphone boasts a 6.7-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate, peak brightness of 450 nits, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.

POCO X3 Pro Camera Layout

On the camera front, the Poco X3 Pro sports a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter with a 119-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture, and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro shots. Upfront, a 20MP sensor is offered for selfies and video calls.

The device packs a 5,160mAh battery with 33W fast-charging technology. The company claims that the charger can fully charge the mobile in 49 minutes. The smartphone ships with dual stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth v5.0.

The Poco X3 Pro is offered in three color options- Phantom Black, Frost Blue, and Metal Bronze. The device is priced at EUR 249 (Rs. 21,400) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model and EUR 299 (Rs.25,700) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option. The device will go on sale from March 24. 

Poco has announced an event on March 30 for India and is expected to launch the Poco X3 Pro in India.

Considering the price range, the Indian smartphone market is crowded in this segment with plenty of options for the customers. The biggest competitor in this segment is Xiaomi’s Mi 10i, which is powered by Snapdragon 750G 5G processor with quad-rear cameras and 120Hz IPS LCD panel. The Mi 10i is ahead of the Poco X3 Pro because of the 5G connectivity.
