Oppo sub-brand Realme has started rolling out software updates for Realme 2 Pro, Realme 2, and Realme C1 smartphones. The latest software update will be available to smartphones through OTA update and is expected to reach the above-mentioned devices over the next few days. The major update coming would be the jump to March security patch. The update with March security update for Realme 2 Pro, Realme 2, and Realme C1 is live in India and Indonesia.
Realme has also made the update file available on its website for the users who wish to flash their devices.
Realme announced the release of the software update on its website. The changelog suggests that the Realme 2 Pro is getting the update with ColorOS build number RMX1801EX_11.A.17_0170_201903151409 and it only comes with the March security update. The update is based on ColorOS 5.2 and the security update is critical since unpatched devices are vulnerable to a media bug that could “enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted transmission to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process.”
Realme says that the ColorOS 6, the new variant of Android-based UI from the company, will bring new features to the device. Realme 2 is also getting security patch with the update which has RMX1805EX_11.A.25_0250_201903192122 as its build number. Besides the March security patch, the update also brings Expert Mode and the ability to click images using the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Realme C1 is getting the software update with build number RMX1805EX_11.A.25_0250_201903192122, which is the same as Realme 2. The update for the Realme C1 is also bringing security patch and Expert Mode, and since the device lacks a fingerprint scanner, Realme has not added the feature where users could capture images by tapping on the scanner. Realme U1 has already received the March security update and the company is expected to release the patch for Realme 1 and Realme 3 next.
