Realme has launched the Realme 8 series- Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro, in India. This smartphone series will be the successor to last year’s Realme 7 series. Both Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro feature quad-cameras at the rear with Super AMOLED displays.

Realme 8 Specifications

Realme 8 is powered by MediaTek Helio G95 SoC with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage, which can be expanded through a microSD card. The device runs on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0.

Realme 8 Front Design

The smartphone features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. The front display has a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 1,000nits of peak brightness. The display also carries the punch-hole cutout for the front camera and the in-display fingerprint scanner.

Realme 8 Rear Design

As far as the camera is concerned, the phone sports a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.25 lens and 119-degree field-of-view, and two 2MP sensors with f/2.4 aperture for macro and black & white shots. Upfront, a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor is placed under the punch-hole for selfies and video calls.

The phone carries a 5,000mAh battery with 30W Dart Charge fast-charging support. Connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are on offer. The device weighs 177 grams.

Realme 8 is offered in two color options- Cyber Black and Cyber Silver. The device is priced at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB+128GB storage variant, the 6GB + 128GB storage option is priced at Rs. 15,999, and the 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs. 16,999. The device will go on sale from March 25 via Flipkart.

Considering the price range of the Realme 8, it will compete with Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro(starts from Rs. 16,999), which is powered by Snapdragon 732G processor, sports a 120Hz AMOLED display, and 108MP quad-camera setup at the rear. 

Realme 8 Pro Specifications

The Realme 8 Pro shares certain specifications with the vanilla Realme 8, however, there are key differences. The Pro variant is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC with Adreno 618 GPU, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, which can be expanded through a microSD card.

Realme 8 Pro

On the camera front, Realme 8 Pro features a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 primary sensor with an f/1.88 aperture, the remaining three cameras are the same as that of Realme 8. The Realme 8 Pro also features exciting imaging features. The front camera is also the same 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor.

Realme 8 Pro Rear Design

The smartphone packs a 4,500mAh battery with 50W SuperDart Charge fast-charging support. Connectivity options are the same as that of the vanilla variant.

The device will be offered in three color options- Infinite Black, Infinite Blue, and Illuminating Yellow. The device is priced at Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB storage option and the 8GB + 128GB variant costs Rs. 19,999. The device will hit the market on March 25.
