Realme

Oppo sub-brand Realme has been fairing well in South-East Asian markets, especially in India. Since its inception last year National Youth Day of China (May 4), Realme has been producing phones with great performance on a budget price, catering to the younger users. The latest smartphone from Realme is the Realme 3 Pro, which has been launched in India as a competition to the Redmi Note 7 Pro and offers entry-level flagship performance at a budget price. Now, Realme is looking forward to improving the experience with its smartphones by offering better specs and a more premium feel.

Recently, two new Realme smartphones bearing the model number RMX1851 and RMX1901 were spotted on China’s smartphone certification body TENAA, suggesting that these smartphones will soon see the light of the day. While the RMX1851 is the recently launched Realme 3 Pro, the RMX1901 appears to be a new device from the company.

As per the specifications detailed by TENAA, this new smartphone will come with a 6.5-inch display. The images do not show any sign of a notch, which further suggests that Realme will opt for an edge-to-edge display with its next smartphone. In terms of design, the smartphone features a curved shiny back with a dual rear camera module and a “Realme” branding at the center. It will be backed up by a 3680mAh battery. More details on the smartphone are not available as of now.

Interestingly, the back of the smartphone does not reveal any fingerprint sensor, which means Realme might integrate a fingerprint scanner under the display of the smartphone. Believing the RMX1901 will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, the technology behind the display is expected to be AMOLED or OLED since there are no viable LCD solutions with in-display fingerprint scanner currently.

As of now, it is difficult to say if Realme will be implementing a mechanized pop-up selfie camera. However, the company might borrow the wedge-shaped pop-up camera from Oppo Reno series that has recently been launched. Additionally, the company may be working on another model – RMX 1951 – which is expected to launch alongside RMX 1901 in China mid-May.
