Xiaomi has launched its new entry-level device named as Redmi 9i.
The Redmi 9i will go on sales from 18th September. Not the first device in the Redmi 9 series. We already have Redmi 9 Pro, 9A, Redmi 9. The cheapest one of them is the Redmi 9A which is priced at Rs 6,799. The costliest, of course, the Redmi 9 Pro. Let’s have a look at what this phone has to offer.
First up is the screen, the Redmi 9i features a 6.53 inch HD+ LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio.
It has a single 13-megapixel rear camera that supports AI Portrait mode, Document Scanner, and Kaleidoscope. The front camera is a 5 megapixel one. It has a teardrop notch so the camera has been embedded there.
Moving onto processor and RAM. The Redmi 9i comes with a 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio G25 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB storage. There are two models, the first one comes with 64 gigs of storage, whereas the other comes with 128.
The battery is pretty decent. It packs a 5,000 mAh battery in it. Xiaomi says that this device’s battery can last up to 3 years. In general, batteries are backed to last up to 2 years. Fast charging with a 10W charger is supported here. it runs on MIUI 12 out-of-the-box. The custom ROM brings features like system-wide dark mode.
Availability and Pricing
The device will be available in 3 colors, Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green. The 64GB variant is priced at Rs8,299 and the 128GB one is priced at Rs 9,299.
The phone will be available for the people on 18th September. You can buy it from Flipkart, mi.com, Mi Home, and offline retail partners.
So this is it. An entry-level device with entry-level specs. Good for your daily activities, surfing, WhatsApp, etc. The battery looks good. No Type-C here. There is a micro-USB port in the device. So one downside maybe. Redmi does provide one of the best phones in the start-mid range.
