Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi has taken the wraps off its new Redmi Go smartphone. As the name suggests, the phone is expected to be based on Google’s Android Go OS. However, the company is yet to confirm this as the details about the Redmi Go shared by the company on Tuesday do not reveal much. A leak about the phone has suggested the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s entry-level processor Snapdragon 425 SoC.

The company has not revealed the price and availability of the Redmi Go, nevertheless, several reports have suggested that the phone might come to stores by the next month.

Xiaomi, in a tweet about the Redmi Go, revealed that the phone will have a 5-inch HD display with 720p resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, 3000 mAh battery. However,  Xiaomi offers phones with Android One OS.

The tweet shared by Xiaomi suggests that the Redmi Go will be available in Black and Blue colors.

There is no word from the company regarding the price and availability of the smartphone, including the market in which the device will be made available.
