Redmi Y3 has been launched in India, adding to the range of the company’s youth-focused Redmi Y-series smartphones. The Redmi Y3 was launched alongside Redmi 7 at an event in New Delhi. Some of the key highlights of the Redmi Y3 include a 32-megapixel primary camera, Snapdragon 632, MIUI based on Android Pie, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The smartphone has been launched in two variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The 3GB RAM with 32GB storage is priced at ₹9,999 while the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage has been priced at ₹11,999. The smartphone will be available in Bold Red, Elegant Blue, and Prime Black color options and will be available for purchase through Mi Studio, Mi Stores, and preferred retail partners soon after.
The launch offers for the Redmi Y3 include up to 1,120GB of 4G data from Airtel, as well as unlimited calling.
In terms of specifications, the Remi Y3 comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D glass, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
At the camera front, the smartphone comes features a dual camera setup compromising of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor. The rear camera setup features phase detection autofocus (PDAF), electronic image stabilization, and a dual-LED flash module.
On the front, the smartphone has a 32-megapixel selfie shooter with EIS, auto HDR, and AI-powered portrait mode. The Redmi Y3 comes with 32GB and 64GB storage options, depending on the variant, which is expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card.
Connectivity options on the Redmi Y3 include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an IR blaster and rear fingerprint sensor. All of this is backed up by a 4,000mAh battery.
