Redmi has recently parted with Xiaomi to establish itself as an independent brand and now the brand is gearing up to launch its first phone. Xiaomi’s sub-brand will be launching its first phone on 10th January with a 48-megapixel camera. The Chinese brand recently released a post on Weibo which shows that its new phone is called “Little King Kong”. The video on the post suggests that the phone is made up of highly durable glass.

The phones Redmi has released so far are all made up of metal, however, this upcoming phone from the brand seems to be made out of glass. The video shows a bunch of people stomping on the phone and the phone goes through the abuse without breaking a sweat.

The video also reveals that the phone sports a waterdrop notch display, glass body, dual camera setup and fingerprint scanner at the back. It appears to be the same phone that has received approval from TENAA. A leaked poster on Weibo also reveals the front and back of the phone. Through TENAA listing it has been revealed that the phone will have a 6.3-inch full HD+ display and a backup of 3,900 mAh battery.

The poster reveals that the smartphone will be available in three colors, Black, Gradient Blue, and Gradient Pink.

According to rumors, the phone might be the first Snapdragon 675 powered device. As for the name of the device, there are various speculations. It could be called Redmi Note 7, although the Redmi Note 7 has been seen on Geekbench sporting a 660 processor. The Snapdragon 660 supports 25-megapixel cameras while the Snapdragon 675 can up to 48-megapixel cameras. The phone is also being dubbed as Redmi 2 pro by some rumors. It will be on 10th January that we will actually get to know more about the phone.
