Asus ROG Phone 5 with 16GB RAM Snapdragon 888 SoC spotted on Geekbench

ASUS ROG phone 5 has been spotted on Geekbench and the scores are pretty high, 1131 with single-core performance and 3729 with multi-core performance. The device is expected to come with Android v11 out of the box. The phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and is powered by an octa-core processor.

ROG phone 5 will come with a 6.78” AMOLED display with 144 Hz refresh rate and weighing 250 grams, which is on the higher side compared to regular smartphones but ROG has established itself as the “spec king” and all these add on to the weight. According to the leaked images, the phone bags triple camera setup with 108 MP(primary)+20 MP(wide)+5 MP(macro).

ROG phone 5 will be launched in 3 variants 12 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM, 12 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM, and 16 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM. Reports suggest that the phone carries a dual-cell 6000 mAh battery and supports 5G networks.

According to China’s 3C, the phone will support 65 W fast charging, and at the rear, the camera setup is accompanied by a secondary display unit, which is pretty cool.

ROG phones have created a fan base among the mobile gaming society and the smartphone is much-hyped with such crazy specs. However, the launch dates of the device are not revealed as of now, but we can expect the device in India somewhere around mid-2021.

The device is expected to be priced at Rs 60,000. With this price point, it is in direct competition with OnePlus 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 plus. However, if we compare the specs, the ROG phone 5 is way above all it’s competitors. At the same price point, ROG offers 16 GB RAM while OnePlus offers 12 GB and Samsung offers 8 GB. Considering the chipset, ROG comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC as compared to OnePlus 8 Pro’s Snapdragon 865 SoC and Samsung S20’s Exynos 990 chipset.

ROG phone 5 being a game centric smartphone didn’t compromise on the camera front and carries a great camera setup, however, only after the release of the device we can judge the performance of the camera. From battery point of view, ROG dominates over other smartphones with a whopping 6000 mAh battery.

Asus ROG Phone 5 offers an entertaining visual experience for prolonged hours with its great display features protected by a 6000mAh battery. For those who are into hardcore gaming, an 8GB or 16 GB RAM teamed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, assures great experience. Neglecting the limitation over storage extension, overall specifications featured by the smartphone is sort of commendable, making it a worthy device to take a position in.
