Samsung Exynos 7904

Samsung has announced its latest chipset in Exynos 7-series called the Exynos 7904. The chipset will be available for the mid-range devices, according to the South Korean tech giant. The company said that this new processor has been designed with a focus on the Indian market, making the SoC cost-effective as well as a performer. Samsung says the Exynos 7904 provides fast web browsing and smooth multitasking.

The Exynos 7904 is an octa-core chipset build on a 14nm manufacturing process which Samsung claims has been used to give users an enhanced “user experience through excellent network speed and smooth multitasking while consuming less power.” The 8 cores on the chipset compromise of two Cortex A73 cores running at 1.8 GHz and six Cortex A53 cores at 1.6 GHz.

The chipset supports a total of 3 cameras with a single camera of up to 32-megapixel sensor. The chipset also supports FHD at 120 fps and UHD at 30fps of video playback. The Exynos 7904 processor comes embedded with LTE modem which supports Cat.12 3-carrier aggregation for 600 Mbps downlink speed.

“Samsung is committed to bringing world-class innovative technologies for the consumers. With smartphones driving the digital revolution, the Indian market has great potential. The Exynos 7 Series 7904 will enable advanced mobile experiences in a broader range of devices with triple-camera support, powerful performance and connectivity.” Rajeev Sethi, Senior Director and Head of Sales and Marketing, Device Solutions, Samsung India said in a statement.

Samsung made this move right before it is expected to launch the M-series in the Indian market. According to various reports, Samsung will be launching two smartphones in its M-series–M10 and M20. There might be a launch of an M30 as well later this year. Both the M10 and M20 are likely to be powered by the Exynos 7904. The Galaxy M10 and the Galaxy M20 will be exclusively available at Amazon with an expected price tag under 10,000 and  15,000 respectively.
