Samsung Galaxy A50, Samsung Galaxy A70

Samsung launched Galaxy A70 on Wednesday, a new premium mid-range smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with a price tag of ₹28,990 and is currently the most premium smartphone in the revamped Galaxy-A series. The Galaxy A70 took this title from Galaxy A50, which was launched earlier at a price tag of ₹19,990.

Interestingly though, both Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A50 are similar at least in terms of design and overall look of the devices. Both smartphones have a similar built with a glossy finish on the back panel and Infinity-U display at the front.

Today, we will take a look at the feature of both the smartphone and determine if the price difference is actually justified.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A70 comes with a triple camera module at the back, reminiscent of Galaxy A8s which was launched back in 2018. The camera module on the smartphone compromises of a  32-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide angle lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.2 lens. At the front, the smartphone has a 32-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 lens.

Samsung Galaxy A50 offers the same rear-mounted camera configuration, except, at the front, the smartphone has a 25-megapixel selfie shooter.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy A70 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage on the device can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card. It is fueled by a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

The Galaxy A50, on the other hand, runs on Samsung’s own Exynos 9610 octa-core processor coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Similar to the Galaxy A70, the in-built storage on the Galaxy A50 is expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. It is fueled by a 4,000mAH battery. Both the phones come with USB-C port at the bottom.

Display

Although the Galaxy A70 and the Galaxy A50 look similar, they offer different screen sizes. The Galaxy A70 has a taller screen at 6.7-inch with full HD+ resolution. The Galaxy A50 offers a smaller 6.4-inch display with the same full HD+ resolution. The display panels on both phones are based on AMOLED technology.

Others

Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A70 come with an on-screen fingerprint sensor. Samsung Galaxy A70 comes with Samsung Pay support.
