Samsung recently launched a new device in the mid-range segment named Galaxy F62. The device comes with some premium noteworthy features. Samsung has been enjoying a great market share in the Indian smartphone market and looking to dominate over the other manufacturers. The smartphone is priced at Rs 23,999 for 6 GB RAM/128 GB ROM model and Rs 25,999 for 8 GB RAM/128 GB ROM model.

This mid-range smartphone segment is ruled by OnePlus Nord and Xiaomi Mi 10i. Galaxy F62 will directly compete with these popular smartphones in the market. Nord and Mi 10i supports 5G network thereby giving them an upper hand as compared to Galaxy F62, which offers 4G connectivity. Here is a detailed comparison among the three mid-range devices.

Design and Display:

Galaxy F62 has a square-shaped quad-camera set-up at the top right on its plastic back. Nord carries a vertical set-up of four cameras at the back whereas Mi 10i has a quad-camera set-up inside a circular module at the center. Smartphone designs are highly subjective and preference varies from person to person.

The Galaxy F62 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a single punch hole for the front camera at the center. A similar punch hole is present in the case of Mi 10i but the phone features a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel. OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a pill-shaped dual punch hole for front cameras.

Samsung is popular in creating excellent display units and the same goes for F62. AMOLED display offered by OnePlus displays comes with great pixel density. Nord and Mi 10i come with a 90Hz refresh rate, however, Mi 10i’s LCD is behind the AMOLED displays offered by the competition.

Cameras:

The camera has become one of the most important features of a smartphone. Out of three, Mi 10i comes with the biggest camera megapixels with a 108 MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and two 2MP macro and depth sensors, and a 16MP front camera.

Galaxy F62 features a 64MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and two 5MP macro and depth sensors along with a 32MP front camera. Nord looks weak among the three devices with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP macro and depth sensors.

Nord features a 32MP front camera along with a wide-angle camera at the front, which gives the device an advantage over the other devices. More megapixels do not certainly produce better pictures.

Battery and Charging:

Galaxy F62 sports a whopping 7,000 mAh battery, the biggest in this segment, and comes with 25W fast charging, which is decent enough considering the mid-range segment. OnePlus Nord comes with a 4,115 mAh battery along with WARP charge 30T fast charging. OnePlus offers one of the fastest charging breaks.

Mi 10i carries a 4,820 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It seems like Samsung leads in terms of battery backup because of the huge 7,000 mAh battery and Nord charges the fastest because of the smaller battery.

Processor:

The Galaxy F62 comes with flagship Exynos 9285, the same processor that powers Galaxy Note 10 series. Nord comes with a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and MI 10i features the Snapdragon 750G.

Exynos 9825 is expected to perform well in managing tasks and handling multitasking. The performance of Nord and Mi 10i is expected to be almost the same.

OS:

Galaxy F62 comes with Android 11 out of the box with Samsung’s One UI 3.1. On the other hand, Nord and Mi 10i are still on Android 10 and might receive Android 11 updates from the companies.

Mi 10i comes with MIUI 12 compared to Nord’s Oxygen OS. Oxygen OS is more popular and loved by users as compared to MIUI.

Pricing:

The Galaxy F62 is available in two storage variants, a 6GB/128GB variant priced at Rs 23,999 and an 8GB/128GB variant at Rs 25,999.

OnePlus Nord is available in three variants, a 6GB/64GB variant available at Rs 24,999, an 8GB/128GB variant at Rs 27,999, and a 12GB/256GB variant, which is priced at Rs 29,999.

The Mi 10i is available in a 6GB/64GB variant at Rs 20,999, a 6GB/128GB variant with a price tag of Rs 21,999 and a 8GB/128GB variant at Rs 23,999.
