Samsung Galaxy S10e

Samsung is reportedly working on a budget flagship smartphone that is going to be priced lower than the Galaxy S10e. The leaks come from a tipster Star Universe through his Twitter handle @TechstarGod. While the details on the device are scarce, it has been reported that Samsung might launch a new budget device with flagship specs later this year.

Currently, the Galaxy S10e is Samsung’s cheapest flagship smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC under the hood. Launched alongside Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, the Galaxy S10e is priced at ₹55,900 for the lone 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. According to the tipster, the upcoming smartphone will retain the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and will be priced lower than the Galaxy S10e.

It is not clear, however, if the new device will be launched in the Galaxy S-series or Samsung’s newly revamped A-series. If Samsung launches a device priced lower than the Galaxy S10e, it might feature an LCD screen instead of the Super AMOLED that can be seen on the Galaxy S10-lineup. There’s a possibility a cheaper phone may come with a physical fingerprint scanner and dual cameras as seen on the Galaxy S10e.

Samsung is also rumored to be working on launching Galaxy A90, which has been said to be a gaming-centric phone. The smartphone has been accidentally spotted on Samsung’s official US website and it has been speculated that the Galaxy A90 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, making it the first handset in the Galaxy A series to feature the top-of-the-line processor. Qualcomm’s latest processor is currently powering almost all the flagship devices from different manufacturers including the Galaxy S10+, Xiaomi Mi 9 and Sony Xperia 1.

Some previous reports also claimed that the Galaxy A90 will feature a 6.41-inch display and will run on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box with One UI on top. Some early concepts and renders of the Galaxy A90 suggest the device will come with a pop-up selfie camera.
