According to Bloomberg, Samsung Electronics Co. seems to have completed a two-month redesign of the Galaxy Fold to fix embarrassing screen failures after multiple testers had problems with their review units back in April during the initial launch due to which Samsung had to delay its planned launch and the device has been in a holding pattern ever since. Experts familiar with the matter say, the Korean giant will debut its smartphone in time somewhere around the holiday season.

Samsung is said to have made the screen’s protective film “flow into the bezels so it would be impossible to peel off by hand.” Previous review units were shipped with a film that looked like a removable screen protector, even though removing it would actually destroy the screen which was reported by some reviewers who found out. It has also re-engineered the hinge, pushing it slightly upward from the screen (it’s now flush with the display) to help stretch the film further when the phone opens.
