Samsung HW-Q70R

Modern TV sets nowadays focus on visual aspect while completely ignoring the audio front. As a result, audio accessories like soundbars and speakers have started to gain traction among customers. Taking advantage of the fact, Samsung has launched its latest Q Series soundbars that are optimized for QLED TVs. The Samsung HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R are the first in the company’s Q-series lineup and feature proprietary Acoustic Beam Technology as well as a new feature called Adaptive Sound.

Samsung has developed the new soundbars in collaboration and with certification from Harman Kardon, which is its own subsidiary. With the Adaptive Sound feature, the two new soundbars analyze content played on the viewer’s TV and adjust the sound setting for ideal audio performance. The soundbars will automatically switch to the adaptive sound mode when connected with the Samsung range of QLED TVs with AI mode on.

This is useful as it supposedly adjusts the equalizer accordingly making sure that the user does not have to change the volume from scene to scene.

The Acoustic Beam Technology, on the other hand, help the Samsung HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R soundbars to improve soundstage through proper positioning and throw of the sound. Moreover, the soundbars feature Bluetooth connectivity, which will prove to be a convenient feature for the users. The higher-end HW-Q70R features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Immersive technology, which will appeal to users looking for high-quality sound output from their speakers. The HW-Q70R is priced at $800 (₹55,300 roughly) while the HW-Q60R will retail at $500 (₹34,500 roughly).

The new soundbars also maintain a slim profile with a height of 59mm. Both the soundbars are slated to go on sale in April, however, there is no word from the company regarding the price and availability of the same in India.

Meanwhile, Samsung has further expanded its Galaxy-A lineup with the launch of the Galaxy A70. The smartphone comes with a waterdrop notch, a large 6.7-inch display with 20:9 aspect ratio, a triple rear camera setup, a 32-megapixel selfie sensor, and a massive 4,500mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy A70 runs on Android 9.0 Pie with One UI on top and comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Samsung made this announcement ahead of the ‘Galaxy A’ event set to be held on April 10.
