Samsung Galaxy Fold is now available for purchase in the market as it is well known that the phone has been launched globally in February but due to hardware defects, the device has been postponed by seven months.
But now the device is finally out for pre-orders and according to some reports the company is working on a new type of smartphone with a flexible display.
A patent is spotted by Gizmochina, and it is suspected that the South Korean smartphone giant Samsung is working on a sliding touch screen display which can conceal the top bezel. On top of this, this screen is flexible as well.
The display shows an attached complex rack and pinion mechanism which allows it to slide up and down. The illustration on the patent shows that whenever a user receives a call the display can be slid down to reveal the earpiece and camera.
Mi Mix 3 has implemented already implemented the idea of the high screen to body ratio but the main reason for this flexible sliding display would be to achieve a high screen to body ratio.
However, there are a lot of patents coming like this but that doesn’t mean Samsung will launch a smartphone like this.
