The price of mobile phone accessories, which are brought from China have seen a great hike after the government has called for ban to all Chinese products.

In Abids, Jagdish Market is the largest mobile market of the city where one can get all kind of accessories starting from earphones to USB cables, chargers, phone covers and new model of phones which are manufactured by the local companies are available.

The prices have increased after the clash at Indo-China border and the statement to ban all different Chinese goods. The shopkeepers have very much limited stock and fear about the shortage which has led to the hike in prices. For example the price of pouch which was around 80-250 has now increased to 350. Same way, the price of other accessories have also increased.

Abhishek, who is trader since a decade has been selling accessories in Jagdish market stated to TOI that the market is experiencing an acute shortage of  China-imported accessories from Chennai and Mumbai to the city. The current situation of China can be one of the major reasons behind this shortage. Apart from this, the call to ban Chinese products can also be one of the side for prices to hike up.

Mounika, a customer said that earlier she used to earn Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 in a single day by selling accessories and  laptop but now the income has fallen to below Rs 10,000. Another trader Durgesh said that it has become very much difficult to pay rent to the showrooms.
