It took only 15 minute for the first pre-order of the Samsung Galaxy FOLD to completely sell out. Thousands of units were immediately bought a Samsung’s official website on Wednesday as well as during the second pre-order on Friday. The situation was different for local mobile carriers and electronics retail shops.

The Samsung Galaxy FOLD is priced as high as two million four hundred thousand Koren Won or 2000 US dollars. But, the high price tag isn’t putting off those looking to be first to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy FOL.

More than 20,000 units have been sold and some people are even willing as much as 4000 US dollars to buy the phone of free sellers. But, it’s not just the high demand that is causing out the phone to sell out industry experts are pointing undersupply as the main cause while giving varying explanations for supply shortage. Some claims Samsung is artificially holding back the supply for marketing purposes, the high price and the limited stocks make customers who do get their hands on the feel special. Others say that With japan’s expert curves on high-tech materials Samsung could be struggling to secure related components namely polyamide as japan’s Umemoto Chemical has monopolized the production of the component, but, Samsung previously has denied such concerns.  There are also technical issues consider, the galaxy fold phone is the world’s first foldable phone and already saw its launch delayed due to techincal defects in April, as a result, it requires a longer manufacturing process and strict inspections especially at such early stage of its release.
