Vaio has now launched the SE14 and E15 laptops in India and the laptops have been priced at Rs.66,900 and Rs.84,690. Vaio E15 has been equipped with a battery that lasts up to around 8 hours. Vaio has launched both the laptops with AMD Ryzen CPU in India.
Vaio also announced the new E-series laptop in silver as well as black colour variant and the new Vaio E-series laptop uses AMD CPU. Until 2014, Vaio laptops were released under the branding of Sony Vaio in India and throughout the world. But in 2014, Sony sold Vaio PC business to a Japanese investment firm.
The collaboration of Vaio with Flipkart makes it clear that the new laptops will be sold through the e-commerce platform. Vaio has made a comeback in the Indian market and has collaborated with Flipkart to launch new laptops in India. Vaio hosted an event on 15th January at 1pm IST and live streamed the event on their website and official YouTube channel.
Flipkart made a microsite before the launch of the new Vaio laptops in India which provided a sneak peek in the design of the new Vaio laptops. The company has not unveiled what kind of laptops or how many they planned to release at the event. Sony stated additionally that they had determined to concentrate on its mobile products lineup on smartphones and tablets and transferring the PC business to a new company made by JIP is the only solution.
