Vivo 'Block Your Calendar' invite

Vivo is gearing up to launch yet another device with a pop-up camera in India. The company on Tuesday sent ‘Block Your Calendar’ invites to tech media for an event that will be held on February 20. Vivo is expected to reveal the device which is likely to be the V15 Pro in this event. The invite, apart from displaying a device with a pop-up camera with a subtext that reads “There is a new pop-up star in town”, does not reveal any other information about the device. Nevertheless, the device is expected to be the Vivo V15 Pro which could be a successor to the V11 Pro that debuted last year in India.

Vivo 15 Pro is also said to have triple-camera setup at the back panel. Notably, Vivo launched the Vivo Nex as its first pop-up camera smartphone in India.

As per the invite from Vivo, the upcoming phone will sport a pop-up camera which will likely allow the device to sport an edge-to-edge screen. The invite shows a silhouette of the device with a camera module popping up from the top of the device.

The first mechanical pop-up camera smartphone from Vivo, the Vivo Nex, was launched in India last year with a price tag of ₹44,990. However, the device is currently available with a price tag of ₹ 39,990.

With the Vivo 15 Pro, the company seems to be looking forward to bringing the pop-up camera to the masses instead of reserving the device in the premium segment. This means that the Vivo 15 Pro will be available at a lower price compared to that of Nex.

Recently, there had been a few leaked images of the purported transparent case of the device. The case showed cut-out space for what could be a triple camera module. The Vivo 15 Pro is also expected to have an in-display fingerprint sensor as the case didn’t have any space to accommodate a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device.

The Vivo 11 pro, which was launched last year, came with a price tag of ₹25,990. Since the 15 Pro is expected to be the successor the 11 Pro, it could be assumed that the device will fall in the same price bracket.
