Vivo revealed its Vivo V20 series recently in India and a few selected markets. But the company was not so much satisfied with the number of devices released under the smartphone series. A few days ago, a large number of leaks were seen pointing to the arrival of Vivo V20 2021 variant. Today, suddenly, the device was released in India. It was listed by Amazon India and is already in stock and ready for order. This was completely unexpected because Vivo did not hint at the official launch of the phone.

Vivo V20 2021 is an attractive device. It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset at the helm with 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. The year 2021 actually means that the device is beyond the vanilla Vivo V20 that brings the lesser Snapdragon 720G. The handset also features a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 44MP selfie camera that offers auto-focus feature. The V20 series beings a few of the most powerful smartphones for those who love to capture selfies.

The smartphone comes packed with a 4,000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging. One more interesting fact is that the smartphone runs on Android 11 OS but it is no the OriginOS version but the Funtouch 11. This makes people a little bit confused about the strategy of Vivo for the newly launched OriginOS system. We know it well that OS will make its debut on Vivo X60 series. But now we are excited to see if other devices will get the same update or will receive a Funtouch 11 update.

Along with the chipset, Vivo V20 2021 is almost same to its sibling Vivo V20. For now, we can say that the newer model is an incremental “2021” update with an improved chipset. In everyday usage, the difference is not so huge, but games perform well on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G. In terms of other specifications, we get the same package. So, there is no point in updating if we already have a Vivo V20. If we want to be a part of the family, Vivo V20 2021 is definitely a better option if we are coming from nothing.

Details are unknown about when the handset will be available for purchase globally. Maybe Vivo will bring it to the other Asian markets in the upcoming few weeks. In terms of India, customers have to pay INR 24,990 in order to get a unit.
