Vivo has launched Vivo V21 5G in India on Thursday. The smartphone is the successor to last year’s Vivo V20 and first debuted in Malaysia a few days ago. The latest offering from Vivo comes with a 44MP selfie camera with OIS. The device runs on a Dimensity 800U processor and is the most affordable 5G-enabled smartphone from Vivo in the country.

Vivo V21 5G Specifications

Vivo V21 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G octa-core SoC, paired with Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. The processor is backed by up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The storage on the device can be expanded via a microSD card up to 1TB. The device comes with an Extended RAM feature that uses up to 3GB of ROM as RAM for improved performance and multitasking. The smartphone runs on Android 11 out-of-the-box with Vivo’s custom FunTouch OS 11.1 on top.

Coming to the display, the device features a 6.44-inch Full-HD+ E3 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,404 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and carries a center-aligned U-shaped notch for the front camera. An in-display fingerprint scanner is built into the display.

As for the cameras, the phone sports a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens and OIS(Optical Image Stabilization), an 8MP sensor for ultra-wide-angle shots, and a 2MP macro shooter. The rear camera module comes with an LED flash. The USP(Unique Selling Proposition) of the device is its 44MP selfie snapper that comes with OIS and can record 4K videos at 30fps. 

The mobile phone carries a 4,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Vivo claims that the charger is capable to charge up to 63-percent from 0-percent within 30 minutes. Connectivity options like 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port are on offer. It weighs 176 grams.

Vivo V21 5G Price

Vivo V21 is offered in three color options- Arctic White, Dusk Blue, and Sunset Dazzle. It costs Rs. 29,990 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at Rs. 32,990. The pre-booking for the device is already online and it will be up for grabs from May 6 in India.

Alternative

Considering the price range, it will rival the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 11X, which is powered by Snapdragon 870 5G SoC and features a 120Hz AMOLED panel, a 48MP triple-camera setup, and a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging, priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB RAM variant.
