Vivo has launched it’s brand new Vivo Y1 around $109 (approx Rs 8,100).

The new Y1 has a 6.22-inch Halo FullView display, talking about the body it has a gradient finish with a purple and blue colour mixture. You will get to see the teardrop notch and slim bezels on both sides.

There is only one variant, A 32Gb Rom + 2 Gb Ram. There are two colours namely Aurora Blue and Olive Black.

Talking about the internal features, it comes with a Mediatek Helio P35 SoC. Oppo A12s, A31 also has this chipset in it. It has 32 GB internal memory which is expandable. The RAM is just 2 GB so heavy gaming and heavy apps would not function as smoothly as you want.

the Vivo Y1s ships the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with Vivo’s in-house FunTouch OS skin baked on top of it.

Talking about the display and camera features a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel. The notch accommodates a 5MP selfie camera. At the back, the device has a single 13MP camera with an LED flash.

You won’t have the comfort of fingerprint unlocking or face recognition so you have to rely on pattern and pin codes. This device won’t support fast charging. It has a 4500 mAh battery.

Talking about weight and dimensions, this device weighs 161 grams and measures 135.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm.

This device has not yet been launched in India and there is no official statement about its release in India. Overall this device is an entry-level device. At 8k it is trying to offer everything it can. Don’t expect it to run games like PUBG and COD smoothly or any other heavy apps. Your daily essential apps like surfing, clicking photos, and social media would do very well. Let’s see when do the Indian audience gets this device in their hands.

  1. While the other features of the phone are pretty decent, especially with the choice of MediaTek Helio P35 processor, however the 2GB RAM seems like it could have been better.
