Vivo has refreshed last year’s Vivo Y12s with a new processor in Vietnam. The latest offering from Vivo features the same specifications as the last year’s Vivo Y12s, but for the processor. The Vietnam variant of Vivo Y12s featured a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, however, the Indian variant was powered by Snapdragon 439 SoC. Now, the Vietnam variant has been updated to Snapdragon 439 chipset.

Vivo Y12s (2021) Specifications

The 2021 Vivo Y12s is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, coupled with Qualcomm Adreno 505 GPU. The processor is backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage on the device can be further expanded via a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 11 OS with Vivo’s custom Funtouch UI 11 on top.

Coming to the display, the device sports a 6.51-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display has very thin, almost negligible, bezels on the edges and a slightly thicker chin. It has a waterdrop-style notch for the front camera.

As for the cameras, the phone comes with a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 lens for depth sensing. Upfront, an 8MP selfie snapper is placed under the notch.

The mobile phone carries a 5,000mAh battery with standard 10W charging. It ships with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, and a Micro-USB port for charging. It weighs 191 grams.

Vivo Y12s (2021) Price

Vivo Y12s is offered in two color options- Ice Blue and Mysterious Black. It is priced at VND 3,290,000 (Rs. 10,500) for the sole 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and is currently up for grabs via e-commerce websites in Vietnam.

The Indian variant, with Snapdragon 439 SoC, was priced at Rs. 9,990 for the 3GB + 32GB storage variant, when it was launched in January.

Alternative

Considering the price point, it will rival Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, which is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and features a 6.53-inch IPS panel, a 48MP quad-rear camera setup, and a 5,020mAh battery with fast charging support, priced at Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB RAM variant.
