The Mi A series of Android One smartphones by Xiaomi is almost dead looking at the fact that no new model was released in 2020. But, the last model in the series, Mi A3 is still getting upgrades because it has not yet reached to its end of life. Still, the latest update that was released for the phone disappointed the owners instead of making them happy because it ended up in bricking their devices. Now, Xiaomi is providing free repairs to those affected.

Recently, Xiaomi rolled out a surprise Android 11 update for Mi A3 that caused the device to get bricked. Due to widespread reports, Xiaomi had to stop the rollout. An official statement said that the affected users can get their devices fixed for free even if their device is out of warranty. They just have to visit any one of the 200 service centers of Xiaomi across the country.

Xiaomi also apologized to the affected users in the official statement but that might not be enough for some users. Xiaomi frequently had issues with the Mi A series when it came to updates. For instance, Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update has to released for three times. The Mi A1 also had many problems when it was upgraded to Android Pie and Mi A3 users had to sign a petition for forcing Xiaomi to release the Android 10 update. Till now, there are no news about the release date of the new update.
