Xiaomi is looking forward to launching its first smartphone running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. According to a post on Weibo, Xiaomi will be launching its next-generation smartphone MI 9 in March. The device is said to be priced at 2,999 Yuan which translates roughly to ₹30,000.

The post also contained some key specifications for the device along with a few reference images as to what the smartphone might look like. According to the post the MI 9 sports a waterdrop notch along with triple camera module at the back and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The post suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 9 will have a 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 19:9 screen to body ratio. The key feature on this phone includes Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 855 and X24 LTE modem that will help with 5G connectivity on the device.

The device will come with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, however, other variants might be introduced at the time of launch. It will run on company’s custom MIUI based on Android 9.0 Pie. The phone is backed up by 3,500 mAh battery and comes with a 32W fast charging brick included in the box.

In terms of optics, the device will sport a triple camera at the back with 48-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel secondary sensor and a 3D Time of Flight sensor. on the front, it will feature a 24-megapixel selfie shooter.
