Xiaomi launched the Mi 10S in China. This device is the extension of the Mi 10 series, which now comprises- Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Lite, and Mi 10S. The Mi 10S features a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 108MP primary sensor and supports wireless charging.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 internal storage. Mi 10S runs on Android 11 out-of-the-box with custom MIUI 12 on top.

The Mi 10S sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1,080×2,340 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, features 100 percent DCI-P3 and sRGB Colour Gamut, HDR10+ support, and 1,120 nits peak brightness. The display also supports the in-display fingerprint scanner.

Mi 10S Camera Layout

On the camera front, a quad-camera setup is offered at the rear with a 108MP Samsung primary sensor with f/1.69 aperture and OIS, a 13MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.4 lens, and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro shots. Upfront, the mobile phone sports a 20MP selfie shooter inside a hole-punch at the top left corner of the display.

The smartphone carries a 4,780mAh battery with 33W wired fast-charging support, 30W wireless fast-charging support, and 10W wireless reverse charging support. The device comes with 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth v5.1.

The Mi 10S features a dual speaker setup tuned by Harmon Kardon and has received excellent certification from DxOMark.

Xiaomi’s Mi 10S is priced at CNY 3,299 (Rs. 37,000) for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant, the 8GB+256GB storage option costs CNY 3,499 (Rs. 39,300), and the top-end 12GB+256GB storage option costs CNY 3,799 (Rs. 42,600). The smartphone is offered in three colour options- Black, Blue, and White.

The smartphone is currently available in China only and the company has not given any official statement regarding the international availability of the device.

The Mi 10S will face competition from the recently launched Realme GT 5G that features Snapdragon 888 chipset, AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate, and is priced slightly less as compared to Mi 10S. It will be an interesting rivalry between the two smartphones. Both the phones are yet to hit the international market.
