Xiaomi Pie

Xiaomi has finally announced the roadmap to start treating its older smartphones with Android 9.0 Pie. The list of all the Xiaomi devices that will receive the latest Android OS has surfaced on the official Xiaomi MIUI forum site.

The company is expected to roll out the Android Pie update to as many as 10 smartphones. Nevertheless, before rolling out the stable update, Xiaomi will be sending out the global beta edition of the update.

Out of the ten phones listed, two are expected to get Android Pie by the end of March, while five more will get the update in the next quarter. There is no set timeline given for the rest of the three phones.

The Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Y2, known as Redmi S2 in China, will be getting Android 9.0 Pie update in the current quarter. Models such as Mi Mix 2, Mi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, and Mi Note 3, on the other hand, might be treated to the Pie update in the next quarter of this year.

The Mi 9 Transparent EditionMi 6X, and Redmi Note 6 Pro are also said to get the update, but there is no concrete schedule chalked out for them as of now.

The update will be offered both on MIUI China ROM as well as MIUI Global ROM.

Once the Beta edition is ready to hit the smartphones, Xiaomi will announce its stable update through its official forums and app.

Last week, Xiaomi also released a list of m features that would be coming in with MIUI 11. In a forum post, Xiaomi has summarized a list of features and feedback received from the users. The forum post reveals the features that the company is planning to implement in the next build of MIUI skin. The list compromises of features that the company has decided to adopt with the next version of the UI, a list of features that are planned to get adopted, and a list of features that the company is yet to decide upon.
