As the launch date for a regulated gambling market is nearing, it has been announced by the Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) that it will issue approximately 35 online gaming licences.

The Remote Gambling Act (KOA) is set to come into force on 1 April, 2021 and the KSA will have to issue more licences for operators across the globe.

According to Gambling Insider, Chairman of the KSA, René Jansen, said: “Ultimately, our work revolves around the interests of the player, of the consumer.

“A fair market remains an important objective but is above all a means to allow consumers to play safely.”

The KSA is set to review the applications for granting of the license from April 1 and the process is expected to get over by October 1, 2021.
