A dockyard employee identified as Satish, 33, was found dead on track near Meghadrigedda reservoir in Gopalapatnam.
The Government Railway Police found the body with some personal belongings in a bag, from which identity of the deceased could be established.
The father of the deceased identified the body, who had lodged missing complaint three days ago.
Although police believe it to be a suicide case, a missing person report has been filed at police station.
It is suspected that gambling losses might have compelled the deceased to end life. However, police has not confirmed this suspicion.
Satish is survived by his parents, wife and a 6 year old son.
