Puttenahalli police of Bangalore raided a hotel in J.P. Nagar on the basis of tip-off on suspicions of gambling.

On raiding police arrested 9 men who were caught red handed with approximately Rupees 55,000 cash.

On arresting, Inspector R.S. Choudhari, who carried out the raid realized that 7 out 9 arrested men were their own colleagues belonging to different police station limits within the city.

They had gathered together to celebrate birthday of one of them after which they booked a hotel for gambling.

The inspector reported the matter to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Harish Pande who directed Mr. Choudhari to proceed with the FIR against the arrestees. The accused have been charged under Karnataka Police Act.

This incident amounts to indiscipline and dereliction of duty,” a senior police officer probing the incident said, reported The Hindu.
