The betting on outcome of US Presidential Elections 2020 has been halted in UK Markets by betting companies such as Ladbrokes, Betfair exchange etc. after Donald Trump announced that he has been tested positive for COVID-19.

The gambling firms announced that it is standard procedure to halt bets when something like this happens.

With US Presidential Elections being just a month away, betting markets in UK had been quite hot and ever changing since the inception of bets placements on November 3 elections.  Interestingly, betting on politics is not permissible in United States.

Reuters reported that, Ladbrokes’ official stated that, “We have temporarily taken the U.S. election markets down as we await further updates – this is standard procedure and we wish Donald and Melania Trump well.”

Notably, Betfair had placed winning odds of Joe Biden at 60% while Trump’s odds fell to 40% after first debate.
