Caesars had obtained a license to run casino resort in Midan City of South Korea earlier in 2014. It also had stated construction for the same when the pandemic hit the world. This forced the Caesars to halt the construction operations.
Caesar’s attempt to retain the license for the said casino has run into some troubles. The South Korean government has given two months widow to the operator to complete the construction which has been halted since February 2020.
The operator has been trying to build the foreigner-only casino in Midan City of which the South Korean govt. might revoke the permission for.
The Midan City project was meant to be a joint venture between Caesars and a real estate development company out of China. The developers have already poured $150 million into the construction after which the construction was halted. Now, the construction is unable to get resumed because the construction company Ssanye Construction, has stated itself to be unable to provide the $27.3 million it had promised.
