Scotland has entered into level 5 safety measures to combat and control spread of corona virus.

In this regard, it has directed closure of non-essential businesses from November 2.

However, casino operators of Scotland have joined hands and are protesting against this shut down.

The organizations are running campaign ‘The Chips Are Down: Save Our Casinos, Save Our Jobs’, with support of Genting Casino, Caesars Entertainment and the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), reported Gambling Insider.

The operators are arguing that pubs, cinema halls and restaurants are allowed to function with lesser safety measures but casinos, which are safer venue, are being pushed to close down.

Jonathon Swaine , MD, Grosvenor Casinos, said, “If Scottish casinos are forced to remain closed it will have a devastating impact on those customers who enjoy their local venues as a community hub, on team members who will lose their jobs, on the local suppliers it serves, on the charities that they are proud to support, as well as on the wider economy which will lose millions of pounds in tax receipts”, reported Gambling Insider.
