Last Week, The Indian Wire had reported that casinos in South Korea have announced the temporary closure of their properties due to COVID-19 situation.

The venues were supposed to open post January 4. However, the ban has been extended till January 17, 2021.

The casino Grand Korea Leisure Ltd (GKL) which is the operator of foreigner-only casinos in South Korea, will keep its properties closed for a further duration until January 17.

Paradise Co Ltd, another operator catering to foreigners, had already announced of its closure till January 15. However, its Integrated Resort shall remain operational.

Kangwon Land casino announced it will be closed until 18 January, 2021.

The shutdown is temporary due to COVID-19 and the social distancing norms shall remain in place. The catering properties have been allowed to operate at 30% capacity and the hotel services can offer only upto 50% rooms.
