Sports data company, Genius Sports has signed an agreement to acquire Sportzcast.
Sportzcast Inc. is a distributor of scoreboard data systems and is popular for its software Scorebot.
Scorebot scoring system is widely used software across US and provides official real-time game data. It would be acquired by Genius Sports.
All the intellectual property rights vested in Sportzcast would be taken over by Genius Sports.
As per Calvin Ayre, Sportzcast President Michael Connell said: “Genius is the ideal partner to accelerate our innovation and supercharge Sportzcast’s global growth through its strong distribution network. We are thrilled to join the Genius team and offer exciting new capabilities for our customers and partners.”
Genius Sports CEO and co-founder Mark Locke said: “Acquiring Sportzcast expands Genius’ official data offering and relevance in the U.S. and worldwide, making us even more compelling to sports leagues and federation partners.
