Hyderabad seems to be making at the top of the list of IPL 2020 related betting arrests.

This time, yet again, Hyderabad police busted 3 separate betting rackets and arrested a total of 7 persons for betting on IPL 2020 matches.

Commissioner’s Task Force (South) arrested Syed Qasim ul Haq, Mohd Arif and Gulam Hasan Khan after raiding a house at Mirchowk, reported Telangana Today.

Police recovered Rupees 73,000 in cash and handed the accused to Mirchowk Police for furtherproceedings.

S Raghavendra, Inspector (Task Force) stated to Telangana Today, “They were organising cricket betting and collecting money from punters on the ongoing IPL matches.”

In another incident, police caught 4 accused persons from Chatrinaka area and seized Rupees 4.21 Lakh from their possession.

The police also recovered 5 mobile phones and a Tab from the possession of alleged accused persons.

The accused were identified as Hanmaji Gari Bali Kishan Rao (42) a resident of Uppuguda and Datrika Shiva Kumar (30) of Musheerabad, according to Telangana Today.

In a third incident, the Task Force (West) team caught two persons Harpal Singh (44) and Anil Singh (43) both residents of Mangalhat. An amount of Rs 34,500 and two mobile phones were recovered from their possession, reported Telangana Today.

All of arrested accused persons were involved in organizing betting and colleting money from the punters.
