Delhi Police on September 30, 2020 raided a hotel in Nehru Enclave in southeast Delhi and arrested four men who were found placing bets on IPL match going on in UAE.

According to a report by OutlookIndia, the arrested men have been identified as Akash Jaswani (28), Kunal Kalra (26), Chetan Gandhi (34) and Kunal Gandhi (29).

The police also recovered 8 mobile phones, one laptop, two notepads and cash worth Rupees 93,000 from the site.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) R P Meena stated that the team had received a tip off about betting and proceeded to conduct raid.

As per reports, it was revealed during interrogation that these men used to run a gambling racket for other sports as well and that they had maintained notebooks containing names of persons who used to place bets through these bookies. It was revealed that different mobile phones were used to contact different persons for different events.

Police is continuing the investigation in this case and a case under Gambling Act has been registered against the alleged accused persons.
