A team of police raided a shop at Gomanhasa on the outskirts of the Jammu city, where police arrested two persons for betting on IPL 2020 matches.

The accused have been identified as Pawan Kumar and Abhimanu.

Police seized Rs 69,000 cash from the possession of accused.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida, Ankur Aggarwal stated that, “The five are members of a gang involved in betting on IPL cricket matches. They were held and 11 mobile phones, one laptop and a car were seized from them. Seven registers in which betting entries were made and 60 gm of a narcotic substance were also recovered from them”, reported Deccan Herald.

While the police continue to pursue ring leader Saddam, other 5 have been arrested. They have identified as Mohammad Aabad, Mohammad Aazad, Mohammad Ishtqar, Rishabh Yadav, all from Meerut district, and Mujahid, who hailed from Ghaziabad, as reported by Herald.
