Mumbai police nabbed a 41 year old man named Sandeep Doshi (as reported by Times of India) in Mumbai.
The man is said to have been accepting bets online for IPL matches.
Reportedly, acting on tip by an informant the Police raided Doshi’s flat in Malad and caught him red handed accepting bets online in a match played between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
The Police on raiding recovered a mobile phone, a television set and 11 different IDs used by the arrestee on three different betting websites. It was reported that the fake IDS were handed by Doshi’s mentors to him.
The charges for gambling, forgery and cheating have been framed against the arrestee by Mumbai Police.
Further investigation continues in the case.
